Jim Malone moved to Lessonhall near Wigton, Cumbria in 2003. I remember visiting soon after he moved in, at the time he was building the two chambered climbing kiln which has since had many successful firings. The kiln is fired using a combination of oil and wood, the firing process takes around twenty four hours and the kiln is left to cool for five days.

As I write in July 2023 Jim is loading his kiln for the final firing at Lessonhall before he moves up to the Scottish Highlands.
