I first met Richard Heeley at the Earth and Fire festival in 2013. Since then we have become good friends and in August 2019 I visited his pottery at Market Drayton in Shropshire. Richard's wife Lucy, once a ceramics restorer is now a trained chef and together they run the Hempmill Pottery and Cookery School.

When they bought Hempmill Brook Cottage two years ago it had been neglected for a number of years, the buildings were damp and the 6 acres of land were completely overgrown. The house is now a lovely home, Richard has a productive pottery and gallery and Lucy is running cookery courses so its all systems go!
